New Hampshire has so many natural attractions to the State, it would be nice if we had attractions to more businesses as well.
Well, I guess you can go kayak in the broads now. The State has decided we do not have enough laws and enough to spend money on.
Interesting legislation for the speed limit on Lake Winnipesaukee, you can go as fast as you want on the small lakes, but if you want to go over 45 on the big late you had better bring your aquafuzz buster.

The bottom line is everyone would prefer clean lakes, rivers and streams. New Hampshire’s DES has been working very hard on the new Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act. In a continuing effort to inform the public and waterfront owners about the changes in the regulations and the enforcement of the rules, they have produced their first edition of “The Critical Edge” newsletter.

The NH House RR&D committee voted 15-2 to recommend approval of the amended version of this bill. These changes clarify the impervious limits to either 20% or 30% and simplify the requirements for increase from 20% to 30% by removing the requirement of a deed restriction. I am sure the debate was heated. The thing that is great about Lake Winnipesaukee is the fact that it is the “Big Lake”. It is where people come to have fun. There are rules in place to keep people safe. There are also many other lakes in the Lakes Region that would be great for water skiing, Kayaking, etc. Winnipesaukee is great for boating.

CONCORD — The battle over a bill proposing a speed limit on Lake Winnipesaukee continued on Monday with everyone from island-dwelling barge operators to weekend speed boat enthusiasts weighing in on an issue that has lake users divided.
Approximately 200 people — many from the Lakes Region — gathered in Representative’s Hall at the Statehouse for a Senate Transportation Committee hearing on House Bill 847.
The bill is proposing a 45 mph daytime and 25 mph nighttime speed limit on the Big Lake.

Boating speed limit debate continues Monday

A bill proposing a boating speed limit on Lake Winnipesaukee will be heard before the Senate Transportation and Interstate Cooperation Committee on Monday in what is expected to be another round of heated debate.
The only, well who knows, Burger King that you can get to by boat is closed. Gone are the days of eating Bacon Double Whopper in your bathing suit!

A Burger King that is believed to be one of the only in the country offering dockside access will be closing on Sunday, though the longtime owner said he is still looking at alternate locations for the business.
After 30 years at its lakeside location on Paugus Bay, the Burger King at 1218 Union Ave. will “unfortunately be no more” as of tomorrow, said owner Larry Kohler of Mass.-based Mastoran Corporation.
